CVD diamond/ Lab Grown diamond/ Chemical Vapour Deposition is the type of lab-made diamond that is chemically, identical and optimal to natural diamond. Humans create CVD diamonds in the lab with all the properties of natural diamonds. People can only tell the difference between CVD Diamond and Natural Diamond, only an experienced lab expert can identify it, and that too with the help of equipment. Its hardness is 10 and it is available in different qualities. Whatever quality variety is present in natural diamonds, the same quality is present in lab-grown diamonds as well.
How to Make CVD Diamond
The first CVD method was used in 1956, CVD Diamonds are made in a laboratory. Growing lab-grown Diamond is the process in which a seed is grown through the chemical process under low pressure. These diamonds are made outside of India and from there they are sent to India and their manufacturing is done in India. Simply, the diamond raw is prepared in a foreign country and that raw material is manufactured in India and a good diamond shape is given.
What is the difference b/w HPHT Diamond and CVD Diamond?
Lab-grown diamonds include diamonds that are grown in the lab with different methods. This method included two types of diamonds. Lab Grown diamonds are grown with two methods one is HPHT and the other is CVD. All the stones that are made from these two methods in the lab count in lab-grown diamonds. Mostly CVD diamonds are preferable and sold.
HPHT method means High pressure High temperature, This methods take high energy and a few days to form. A tiny diamond seed is inserted into carbon, the substance from which diamonds are formed, to develop an HPHT diamond.
A diamond seed is placed in a vacuum chamber using the CVD process. This chamber heats up to over 1500 degrees Fahrenheit and fills with gasses that are high in carbon. At these extraordinarily high temperatures, the gas transforms into plasma, which releases fragments of carbon. The diamond is grown by layering these carbon fragments onto the diamond seed.
Advantages of CVD Diamond:
Easily Available: Lab-grown diamonds are made manually in the lab due to which their availability in the market is high. These diamonds are not rare and are easily available in India.
Price too affordable: Now since CVD diamond is not so rare, easily available in the market and its production is very high, it is not that expensive. This is a very pocket-friendly diamond and any person can easily afford it.
Different Qualities Available: This diamond is produced in different qualities, shapes, and sizes, now since it is made in the lab by humans, all varieties are easily available in it, be it any size, colour, or clarity.
Eco-Friendly Diamond: CVD diamond is considered to be a friendly diamond because no harm is caused to the earth during the production of this diamond. The chemical or material of this diamond is not harmful to the earth at all.
How to Identify CVD Diamonds:
CVD Diamonds are similar to natural diamonds. It is very difficult to identify them with normal eyes. If a natural and pure diamond is placed in front of a normal person, he will not be able to identify which one is which. Therefore, there is only one way to identify a CVD diamond and that is its certificate. Every diamond comes with its certificate which is proof of what the stone is and its color, clarity, and other details. Many labs give certificates of natural diamonds, therefore whenever you get the certificate done, get it done from a good and reputed lab.
